The internet world is completely different from the real world. So much so that I’ve developed relationships with people across the net that I haven’t even met in real life but I still consider these people to be my peeps nonetheless. Take for example my fellow writer Henry “Rizoh” Adaso. Rizoh holds down the Rap/Hip-hop section for about.com, freelances with numerous publications, and runs one of the best and one of my personal favorite blogs on the internet, The Rap Up.
Riz was prolly the first blogger to reach out to me when I started The Block, and by linking one of my posts to his site, he singlehandedly helped me go from unknown blogger to C-list internet celebrity (I mean, the guy even put me in his Top 24). As I strive to be the best blogger I can be, Riz has been there to guide me, give me advice and help me in anyway that he can along the way. (Ok, enough with the sentimental stuff).
Now, Riz and Denver writer Quibian Salazar-Moren have launched a new blog Street Census to “bring you the latest on what’s in and what’s out, what’s hot and what’s not and rank them for your pleasure. Plus your favorite urban artists weigh in with their opinions.”
I checked the site out earlier this morning and I think it’s dope. Street Census focuses on lists and also reaches out to artists to allow them a chance to contribute to the blogosphere. I love making lists myself but I don’t have the time or patience often enough to compile such things so a lot of the time I have to live vicariously through Riz (which isn’t bad at all because the dude is thorough in his hip-hop research and knowledge, with only a slight bias for Houston music). Check out Street Cense and Riz, thanks for the love fam.
Log on to Street Census here.
