Them Carolina boys from Holly Hill, SC, that had that SC hit song “Pants Saggin’” are back with a new one featuring Da Juiceman. But why anyone would want that nucca hollering “aye” all over the track is beyond me.

So, one of my interns came to the j-o-b yesterday, this is the same kid that thinks 3 Stacks is a wack rapper…yeah, after the kid said that, I pretty much quit listening to anything he had to say in life. But he does keep my abreast with what the ’90s babies are into nowadays. Apparently, “Swag Surfin’” is the hot sh!t in the streets right now, and when you call someone on the phone, it’s proper to ask them, “what you swaggin’ on?” Of course, you’ll never catch me doing or saying either, but it’s good to know that’s what the teens are into, just in case I have an emergency and I actually need to speak with one of them someday.

Also, I learned yesterday from the intern and my colleague Jen aka Ms. Rivercity (who thinks she’s cool because she’s up on sh!t like this), that you’re not one of the cool kids in 2009 if you don’t say “stoopid” instead of “stupid.” I really don’t know the difference. I said, “so, it’s ‘stupid’?” “No!” they said, “you gotta say, ‘stoopid’” Hell, that’s what the f#ck I said, “‘stupid!’”

Actually, the whole conversation was pretty “stupid” to me. But it seems that Gucci Mane (who’s like Jay-Z to kids in the South these days) has a new song that’s getting a lot of play around the A called “Stoopid.” So, now you have to say it like he says it.

I for one think Gucci Mane is one of the worst rappers to ever touch the mic, but at the same time I find myself entertained by some of his songs, so I guess that he’s not half bad in the regard that I’ll listen to his sh!t in the club. But I’m not going to walking around following any of the ignorance that he promotes by saying, “stoopid.” (My mother raised me better than that).

But if you’re concerned about being a kid next year, make sure you say “stoopid” from now on. Here, I’ll use it in a sentence for you: Kids are stoopid.

Hopefully that helped clarify things for you.

Anyway, here’s the song. It’s “stupid” if you ask me, but what do I know.

Gucci Mane – Stoopid

Shouts out to my dude Akshun. He’s a SC emcee, outta that Magnum Opus Records camp (Dan Johns, what it do?), and he fux with The Block hard. Recently, Akshun dropped a mixtape hosted by my homie Shekeese The Beast, and he just shot it over to me. I’m posting both the DJ and non-DJ versions of the mixtape. I’m about halfway thru the mixtape myself, and it sounds like hot sh!t so far. Real hip-hop fans should definitely check this one out.

I’m putting together my lists for best albums, mixtapes, and songs of 2008, so I can submit my votes for the end of the year picks posted over at my dude Rizoh’s blog. I’ve been sitting here for about an hour or so trying to think back through the year, trying to make sure I didn’t forget anything. Now, don’t think just because I put up a pic of Shawty Lo’s album that I’m considering Units in the City as one of the year’s best…I’m actually putting it up as one of the year’s worst, right along with that sh!t Rocko put out, and that album Gucci Mane dropped, where he looks pregnant on the cover. I know there were probably albums worse than those, especially from indie artists that think they can rap, but actually suck azz, but none of those albums come to mind right now (thank God).

Anyways, I want to ask my readers, what are your favorite albums of 2008? And what do you guys think are the worst? I just want to make sure I don’t forget anything when I’m done with my list, and I value my readers’ opinions (well, some of yall’s). And I think I’m going to post the worst albums of 2008, just because I think it’d be funny, and I like to make fun of people like that.

Now, if you all would kindly leave your picks for best & worst albums of 2008, I’ll post my picks once I’m done with my list (probably later on this week).

(I’ll probably ask you guys the same thing about best mixtapes and albums, so you all can go ahead and start thinking about that, too).

I was surfing the web like I do every morning, and I just came across an article on my big cousin, Cedric Williams. Ced is a former South Carolina Gamecocks football player, turned coach, and he was just promoted to interim head offensive line coach for Carolina’s bowl game against Iowa, after spending the last two seasons as a graduate assistant. Reading that article almost made me shed a tear (almost).Ced is my nucca, nucca. Me and this dude grew up together from the dirty roads of Charleston, SC as kids to the classrooms at the University of South Carolina. To be honest, Ced is the reason no one ever f#cked with me growing up because he was about 6’2”, 300 lbs., so people wanted no problems with him (or the rest of my football homies).

Anyways, it feels good to see my nig doing his thug thizzo, so shouts out to my dude, Big Ced. I see you, cuz.

Shouts out to my girl Julia Beverly, or as most people know her as “JB,” (you know, ole girl I work with over at OZONE). She was featured in BusinessWeek, which means she’s big business, which is kind of a big deal.

Check out her BusinessWeek, Not Your Usual Hip-Hop Mogul feature here.

Good sh!t, indeed.
