When I came up with the Pump It or Dump It idea, I didn’t think about all the emails and requests I’d be getting from artists that would want to get their songs featured. I guess I should have because I’ve gotten quite a few people hit me up about it, so I guess I’ll have to turn this into a weekly feature. I’m not sure how often I’ll do this…you know how nuccas be, I’ll get to it, when I get to it.

So, my dude MIDIMarc (who is probably THE best producer in South Carolina…sorry 9 Mill, but dude is nice) hit me up with an email, first off stating that Pump It or Dump It is an ingenious idea (*R.E. brushes shoulders*). And he sent a track to be featured from a Charleston, SC rapper named Ntelligence. You know, I actually remember this guy’s face. He went to the University of South Carolina with me, and I do remember him being a rapper. But I never knew he was from Charleston. I mean, I never ever spoke to dude cause I don’t really remember if he was that cool, and I’m just an unfriendly azzhole like that sometimes.

Anyways, Charleston rappers usually sound like they used to be down with No Limit or Cash Money in the late ’90s, but Ntell actually uses words that have more than two syllables, which is a positive thing. But I’ll leave the rest up to ya’ll. But I will say that the beat bangs, but that’s usually the case when MIDIMarc is on the track.

    DUMP IT

Beat:I can hear Hov on this, but anyway, Its MIDI, dude go stupo wit dem samples, only beat I ever heard of his that I didnt like is one where he aint use a sample, courtesy of Dj Dyce.

Lyrics:Flow was boring, He sounded scared too. “king me like 2 checkers?” I guess thats what yall call hip hop!? Str8 up tho, if he had some sauce dat line probably might of woulda worked.

Bottom Line:He completely took away from da Chuck’s sound. Da Chuck got dey own sound.
oh, slap whoever da fuck put dat delay on some of da ad libs. Ah man, Dat Beat stupo tho, Imma fan of simple joints.

P.S. Im da best producer in Souf Crack!

I don’t know $5. The streets said you don’t come to the beat battles, and you can’t be the best if you don’t beat the best. That’s not my opinion, that’s just what the streets told me.

  10. Mic Skilz

Its Cool, I Need To Hear More From Dude..

  11. Jadore

    PUMP IT UP

  12. K.RACH

dump it…the beat is alright but…why is the dude screaming on the the track…he sucks ass…and the beat sounds like its dragging…the bpm should have been little bit faster…i hope this is not the best they got…because i dont like it doesnt mean that im hating though…

  13. BuddyWhite

PUMP THIS….this joint is very good…Intel sounds kinda like a young Pharos Monch on this song(kinda). The beat is exceptional; the lyrics have content and depth. I don’t know what $5 is talking about. This must have gone over his head. Then again his opinion holds less weight everytime he opens his mouth because he be on here co-signing some garbage ass “music”. And as far as Charleston having a style…that’s about some of the dumbest shit I’ve heard. Columbia may have a sound(which is called “WACK”, btw); but i’m not confining my city to such nonsense. Don’t get me wrong, but most SC rappers think they have a hot song because they got a female singing the hook(which 8/10 times makes your song garbage). It is said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, so if Intel chooses not to live outside the bubble that $5 calls “charleston rap”, then more power to him.

  14. chuckt

pump it…sounds like he starts to lose the beat here and there but overall a solid track. and damn buddy tell em how you really feel lmao

  15. preach

    pump it. great shit.

  16. donte regis

  17. 5dollaz

    @ buddy white
Da Chuck got dey own complete sound, believe me if an actual geechie nigga ever make, it goin be a hype cuz da nation dont know about it.

@ RE, I just got back here 2 months ago, I aint heard bout no battles….I was actually tryin to put one together. I got 2 more months until Im back in ATL, if A battle dont happen between now and then well??? but ask niggaz how dey know me, dey goin say da beats! TRACK TEAM AYE!!

wow @ buddy white sayin we aint go no artist. Who da fuck u been listenin 2? just cuz u dont like our music dont mean we aint got artist.

  18. akshun

oh wow. i gotta set up the email shit on my blackberry i’ll comment later.

  19. Dan Johns

pump it…to address the previous comments, I can see how ntelligence’s voice could be an acquired taste for some (many artists deal with that), but you can tell from the flow that he’s very comfortable with his style and delivery. You can hear the confidence in the flow, and it sounds polished.

that being said, there were some points in the second verse that weren’t sharp, but it sounded intentional to me.

  20. CAP

    Pump it: Dope record indeed.

  21. Randy Exclusive

Just to jump in on $5. Just because an artist is from charleston, that doesn’t mean they should all have the same sound. Its ok to do you, make the kind of music you want to, and be original from what everyone else in your city is doing. Yes, the music that most Charleston artists make is unique, but at the same time, you can’t expect make music in that lane. Ok, that’s all I’m gonna say about that right now.

As far as the beat battle, cats are calling you out. There’s a battle next Saturday in Columbia. Hit up my man Kingpin. 803-546-2319, kingpin@nonstophiphoplive.com

  22. ChuckT

how do i say this without bein a asshole…there is a pretty big population of “actual geechee niggas” that dont talk geechee unless their talking to another geechee person…you know how rhianna sounds normal when she sings but when she get on a interview that island twang come out? Marley marl bout the only one pumpin right now that you can hear his accent in his tracks, then again he spit trap hop so it works. Thats the audience he’s trying to reach. Honestly, I dont think the country is ready for a backpacker geechee rapper. To the average person it’ll sound like he’s posin

  23. 5dollaz

@ RE, wow I cant wait! Im bout to call dude now. I bet niggaz been going to my myspace page, Imma use shit niggaz aint never heard!

if u readin this Ntell, Im a fan 1st b4 I rap, Im just makin suggestions, I live and die dis Souf Crack shit. “Monkey Shit” is my personal favorite song of yours, its got a message.

@Chuck T, U understand exactly what Im sayin, preciate it. Niggaz need to embrace dey fuckin culture, I feel dats da real reason Souf Crack dont get 2 much shine.

“Think outside dat box, but stay in da circle”
anybody who dont understand this is lost.

RE, man I love yo blog, Im gettin a lil Pub already! Imma make sure everybody start hoppin on da block.

  24. Randy Exclusive

Haha. ‘Preciate that homie. SC all day.

  25. ChuckT

Personally, I dont like repeating myself. So unless we cool im turnin it off. You may not feel where im comin from, but its annoying as hell to have to repeat myself or explain what gullah/geechee is to someone that hasnt been exposed to it. Happens way too often and the shit got old years ago. When someones trying to get you to feel what their writing the heavy accent can be distracting and thats probably why you don’t hear it that much. just my thoughts…

  26. thingsithinkithink

    I’m feelin’ it.

    Good job fellas.

    Keep up with the lava.

  27. Nanci O

ok now this what im talking about. it sounds a little granola but i can rock with it

    charleston what up

  28. 5dollaz

    @ ChuckT
True! I never looked @ it like dat.
Just in case u aint know, I was agreed wit u on da fact dat niggaz aint ready for a chucktown backpacker. A south crack backpacker period, Hell, Dan Johns came float wit da best on dis rhymin shit, but just cuz he do dat type of music niggaz act like he wack, when in actuality dude can rip dey favorite rapper.

By da way, its on Im signed up for da beatstreet battle!

  29. MIDIMarc

    @ 5 Dollaz

Make sure you come out to the battle man….real good networking and Friendly competition…since you’re the best..I can’t wait to hear you live

  30. L'Daialogue

This song is tight….pump it. For the haters…come on. If Weezy was on this tight…you would be pole jockin’ folk.

NTell kills this one mane. Add a point to the score.

  31. akshun

what i find funny is that the metro really just started doin this backpack stuff…maybe the early 2000’s. whenever pastor troy started poppin. that’s when i started hearing cats change their styles. before then niggas around here were rapping like they were from NY. LOL. but just like all regions there are different sounds. But niggas ain’t gonna act like the met was super gangsta crunk shit forever. nahhhh mane

  32. 5dollaz

    @ MIDI
yea, dis gone be fun, I aint never did a battle be4.

  33. MIDIMarc

    @5

the best part is hearing your beat on the BIG speakers

  34. Writer’s Block Media

[...] Ntelligence – “Good Morning SC”: This track produced by the homie MIDImarc got pretty good reviews.
