I went to the Cool Kids show tonight. Well, it wasn’t really a show because actually, the Cook Kids weren’t scheduled to perform, they just came to say “hi” or some sh!t and Chuck Inglish DJed. But no one knew the Cool Kids weren’t performing until they got on stage and only performed one song, just for the hell of it. I was kinda disappointed because I went out there to hear “Black Mags” live, and if knew it was gonna be like that, I could have made a better effort in getting myself into the Lady Gaga/Chester French show tonight, because I heard all the hoes promiscuous girls were there.
Anyways, it wasn’t all bad. I got to see the homie Playboy Tre perform. And Killer Mike come through and did a song or two. I can’t really member who else performed because those other guys weren’t really memorable. Well, everyone except Grip Plyaz. He’s a hipster rapper here in Atlanta, who kinda fuxs with that Hollyweerd, Proton circle (who are a bunch of rappers that you guys have probably never heard of, but my ATL people know who I’m talking about).
You know, I did feel kinda out of place tonight. I mean, it’s funny because I can go to a hood club and be the only nucca up in there rockin’ a sweater vest and be cool, but tonight when I was surrounded by a bunch of nuccas wearing skinny jeans, I just didn’t feel like I was in the right place. I don’t know, maybe I’m just too cool for a Cool Kids show. I can’t front though, a lot of the chicks in there were dressed weird as hell, but 90% of them would have got fuxed on a good night.
Anyways, back to Grip Plyaz. He kinda performed with this guy named Gangsta Pill who’s down with Killer Mike’s label. But I didn’t really understand why Pill was so mad. He keep cursing at the crowd and telling people if they didn’t get up for his show then “fux you,” but honestly, no one knew who he was, and I found the whole thing confusing. Actually, I was kinda embarrassed because there were a good bit of white people in attendance, and having this black guy on stage shouting at everyone wasn’t a good look, especially since we have a black president and all.
Where was I? Oh, yeah, Grip Plyaz. So, I learned tonight that hipsters don’t really like being called “hipsters.” I didn’t even know that until tonight. I was under the impression that crowd of people that dressed like they’re still in the ’80s and smoked clove cigars was cool with the term, but to my surprise, they’re not.
So, this guy Grip Plyaz…he has this song called “F*ck Dat Hipster Sh!t” and I must admit the track goes hard. It was probably the best song I heard all night, and all the hipsters people that were dressed funny got pretty crunk for the song, so I’m guessing it’s already somewhat of an anthem amongst the people that dont’ like to be called “hipster.” I almost wanted to be considered someone that people call a “hipster,” just while the song was playing, so that I could sing along with passion like the rest of the people that were dressed in tight clothing (*pause*).
Here’s the song, so you guys can get a feel of where I’m coming from:
Grip Plyaz “F*ck Dat Hipster Shit”
Dope record, right? Yeah, I thought so, too. Anyways, I just wanted to share my experience tonight. I might see if I can find some jeans I had from back in middle school, just so I can wear them for a day, while I bump “F*ck Dat Hipster Sh!t” so I can take in the whole “hipster” thing for a moment. On second thought, scratch that idea. I’ll just stick with my polos and sperrys.
