So, Vibe put together a list of the 50 Hottest Rap Blogs, (The Block ain’t gonna be on there, because, like I said before, this blog isn’t really hip-hop), that will be featured in their next issue. But they’ve began unveiling some of the blogs on the list and they even interviewed some of the bloggers. I went to the site today and I just saw my homie Maurice Garland on there. His blog,, is ranked #42, and it kinda made me proud…in a “hey, I know that guy” kinda way.

For those that don’t know, me and Maurice are both editors for Ozone Magazine, so I see and converse with him on the daily, and since we pretty much have the same taste in music, we end up going to a lot of shows and concerts around Atlanta together (no fishsticks). And a lot of the topics we discuss and events we attend end up on his blog (and my blog, too), so seeing my dude’s blog up on the list feels like a vicarious victory.

I’m glad someone is finally showing some love to bloggers, and actually recognizing the power of blogs and the people that run them. I mean, I’m not trying to big myself up, I’m just sayin’. Anyways, shouts out to Vibe, shouts to Maurice, eskay, Rizoh, and all the other bloggers that will be on the list, and that have supported The Block over the years. We major now.

Yay, Maurice! :o ) I was just talking to my homie about the fact that all the writers in Atlanta seem to know each other (his pic was on Maurice’s blog and I was like, “You know him?”). It’s a tiny circle. He corrected me like, “All the GOOD writers…” LOL.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see The Block on this list. But it’s dope seeing MG get his shine.
