I want to take this time to introduce you all to the newest rap song that’s taking over Atlanta. This song by Big Bank Black (I swear I stumble every time I try to say his name) is starting to pick up on radio and clubs around Atlanta, and I have to admit to actually liking this song, but you all should know by now I enjoy an occasional ignorant rap song. So in this “Try It Out” song, Big Bank Black (I just stumbled in my head) is pretty much telling a b!tch chick he has a lot of money, which makes him a pimp because he has enough money to blow dough a woman in a “it ain’t trickin’ if you got it” manner, so she should see what’s up with him.
While there is nothing lyrical or even good about this song, I still like it. But I think that has more to do with UGK, Too Short, and 8Ball & MJG corrupting my mind and making me believe I was pimpin’ back in high school. Of course, I got older and realized I wasn’t pimpin’, but I can still relate to a good pimp these hoes promiscuous women and slap a b!tch chick song every now and then.
Oh, and Kandi, which is old girl from Xscape (and the only member of the group that still have any relevance in the music industry these days…sorry Tiny) is on this song, too. And she gave it a much needed boast of talent, even though her and Black are killing autotune on the song (obviously they aren’t Jay-Z fans).
So, as the story goes, Black is the CEO of an ATL label called Duct Tape Entertainment (with a name like Duct Tape, you can see what these guys are about). And when the label’s main artist Alley Boy went to jail, Black decided to start rapping instead of letting all the money he invested go to waste. So, you’ll see, this song is the by product of a guy that hasn’t been rapping very long, and who never really intended to rap in the first place. (Sidenote: Alley Boy is out of jail now and actually signed to Atlantic a few weeks ago).
Anyways, here goes the track. Sooner or later it’s gonna end up getting played annoyingly in whatever city you reside (mostly in the South though), so you might as well get used to it now.
