Tonight, Compton, California emcee and 2011 XXL Freshman Kendrick Lamar will be performing at the Masquerade in Atlanta. Aleon Craft, Jay West, Nesby Phips and Ethereal are also on the bill, and it’s hosted by the homie Maurice Garland. $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Doors open at 8 pm. I’m sure I’ll see some of my A-Town homies there.

Yesterday, on 106 & Park, ATL trio Travis Porter debuted their latest video “College Girl,” off there Music Money Magnums mixtape. I just watched the video, and it almost brought a tear to my eyes. I mean, I’m not an overly sensitive dude, but I will say my college years were the best years of my life, and I’d give anything to go back, or just to be a college kid with nothing to worry about but getting up for class, studying for a midterm, scraping up a few bucks for the $1 menu at Wendy’s, getting fresh for the party on Friday and hollering at shawty that sits in the front during ECON class. Those are really the only worries a college kid has.

I spent two years at the South Carolina State University, and then three more years at the University of South Carolina, and I didn’t know it then, but life couldn’t get much better than that. I mean, college institutions give you an unlimited assortment of beautiful, educated, career-driven young women at your disposal…and every year they bring in a new class with hundreds more girls to choose from. And the only thing universities ask from you in return are a few thousand dollars a semester, and to academically maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average. Plus, after four years of getting at all the college girls you can manage, if you uphold your end of the bargain, the school will give you a college diploma, that will on average will allow you to better your future and award you a higher paying salary than someone that didn’t go to college (no shots, I’m just going by the numbers). In my opinion, there’s nothing better than going to college.

Every time I talk to a college student, they complain and always talk about how they can’t wait to graduate, and I’m always like, “FOR WHAT!?!” Man, if I had it to do over, I’d stay in college for the rest of my life. I’d be Van Wilder at USC, and never graduate. Ain’t nothing but bills, debit, and women past their prime when you graduate from college…ok, life after graduation isn’t all that, but college girls are a lot more fun than when in the real world (I’m just sayin’).

Even though these Travis Porter dudes didn’t go to college, they know college girls are just better. AKAs and Deltas left and right, studious chicks that are really freaks behind closed dorm room doors, and those girls on the track team with bodies built like horses…man, college is the sh-t! Word to Travis Porter.

Wiz’s album release show went down last night at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC. Wiz starts crying around the 2:50 mark, if that’s what you really want to see…

They say Rolling Papers is projected to sell about 190k-215k copies in its first week, which is a pretty solid number for a debut album. Congrats to Khalifa and to all the Taylors out there.

Think event went down at Tree Sounds Studios in Atlanta, GA, on Monday, the day Big K.R.I.T. released Return Of 4eva. I was out of town, and missed it, and I’m kinda of mad about that cause Tree Studios be having some good ass food every time they have something at their place. Shouts to 3 Little Digs for the video footage.

When I say that The Mad Violinist and his Symphony Crack crew have some dopeness cooked up for their album, The Addiction, I hope you guys believe me. “Coming For You,” featuring my sis Asia Bryant, is just an out of the box taste of what TMV and the team are cooking up for the masses. The Addiction is schedule for an April release, so I hope they stick to that date, cause I’m ready for the world to hear it, and I hope the rest of you are looking forward to it too. That girl Asia being singing like a bird too. Dope.
