According to hitsdailydouble.com, which projects album sales after their first day of sales, J. Cole’s debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story, is projected to sell 225,000 to 250,000 units in its first week. Those are pretty solid numbers for Cole considering he didn’t have a major single getting radio play and this being his first album.

That’s a good ass look though, especially for a dude from Fayetteville, North Carolina. It’s been about two years since I first stumbled on Cole’s music, and it’s always good to see a talented artist grow, develop and succeed.

From HitsDailyDouble:

The album, which features collaborations with his mentor, as well as Trey Songz, Drake and Missy Elliott, has surpassed even label expectations with prospects of a sales total approaching 225-250k its first week. Cole had steadily built a following with a trio of well-received mixtapes, including last year’s Friday Night Lights.

Cole just finished a stint as the opening act on the just-concluded Rihanna Loud tour, where rumors of a steamy romance and sex tape have filled the Internet blogosphere, though it’s being roundly denied. She appears in the video for the album’s second single, “Can‘t Get Enough,” shot in her native Barbados with Cole and Trey Songz after the tour ended.

Congratulations to J. Cole and his entire crew. Carolina all day.
