Well, ladies and gentlemen, tonight is the start of the new NBA season, and since basketball is my favorite sport (although football is my favorite sporting season), nothing else really matters right now. And since I’m so big on basketball, I’m gonna declare this week as NBA Week on The Block, so that means a lot of my post (not all) will be NBA basketball related. My fantasy b-ball team is drafted and ready, and I will be home by the time the Celtics and Cavs tip off the season on TNT at 7:30.

I don’t know about the rest of ya’ll but considering that the Lakers basically have the same team from last year, plus they added Ron Artest, I don’t see anyone fuxing with them, and I’m predicting them to be back to back NBA Champions. The only thing I can see keeping them from winning another championship is if Ron Artest goes crazy and starts another brawl. Or if Kobe gets caught up trying to go backdoor on another unsuspecting white girl. And they might wanna check to see if Lamar Odom is mentality stable for marrying that Kardashian girl (I mean, if it was Kim, I could understand, but he married the busted one. But I digress). Notwithstanding, those off the court issues shouldn’t stop the Lake Show, and I don’t see any team in the NBA fuxing with Kobe & Co. That’s why I’m picking them to win the title once again.

Coming out of the East, I do like the LeBron James and Shaq to lead Cleveland to the NBA Finals, over the new Magic, but I still don’t see either one of those teams hanging with Kobe’s crew.

Anyways, I could sit here and talk basketball all day. I got this one girl that wants me to go to the movies and see Paranormal Activity with her. But I told her the World Series is about to start up, football is in midseason, and the NBA season begins tonight, so I’m not sure if the movies could fit into my schedule. She wasn’t too pleased about that, but she’ll be aight. It’s basketball season, baby. Nothing else really matters.

It wasn’t easy, but we got the win. 6-2. Btw, it was our homecoming and I had a blast. Shouts out to my Gamecocks alumni family.

So, what does that make us now? Let me see…5-1. GC, baby.

Not that the final score was any surprise…

I actually went to both universities, but since I spent 2 years at South Carolina State, and then 3 years at the University of South Carolina (plus I graduated and pledged at USC), I’m more Gamecock than Bulldog. I would like to applaud the SCSU Bulldogs for showing up at Williams-Bruce stadium in Columbia, SC last night. I’m sure the after parties were poppin’ in the Metro.

The Gamecocks are 4-1. Kentucky’s up next.

We’re 3-1, baby!

Michael Vick signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, and is officially back in the National Football League. I’m watching Mike & Mike In The Morning on ESPN 2 like I do every morning, and it seems that a lot of people are pissed off that Mike Vick is back in the league. I for one am stoked. Ok, he killed some dogs, so the fux what. The man did the crime, and did his time. He deserves a second chance and that’s all I really have to say. Welcome back, Mike.

The Best Of Michael Vick is after the jump.
