I’m as big a K.R.I.T. fan as the next man, but the fact of the matter is he needs to find a hit single or his Def Jam debut album might never get a release date (regardless of how dope his mixtapes are).
“I Got This” is K.R.I.T.’s latest attempt at a single. I don’t know how I feel about this record from a commercial standpoint.
If I were over K.R.I.T.’s project, I’d put him in a room with someone like Pharrell, Kanye West, the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League or Kane Beatz, and have them produce a hit for him. Yeah, I know Krit wants to produce all his own projects, but it’s been a year or two now and he hasn’t put out a hit record yet.
I mean, he has plenty of dope songs but no hits. Maybe he just doesn’t have that commercial single sound in him. Let someone else try, K.R.I.T. Well, unless people think “I Got This” is it. Thoughts?

K.R.I.T.’s Return of 4eva was a Top 10 album/mixtape last year and I don’t expect anything less from the new project.
