Out of all the events I went to this past weekend, the only thing I’m pissed about is missing the Big Sean and Mike Posner show on Friday. I promise you this Mike Posner dude is gonna blow the fux up. Shouts to Motion Family for being on the scene and shooting this video.

Bonus: My girl I’ze got a couple videos on her site too. Looks like she shot them with her camera phone, but I ain’t mad at her.

Ok, so I’m kinda sorta hella late with bringing Mike Posner to The Block. But let me explain. Mike Posner is a singer/producer/songwriter from Michigan (but he goes to school at Duke University), and I first heard him on a Big Sean record. And to tell the truth, I used to get him confused with Mr. Hudson, I guess because they’re both white and affiliated with G.O.O.D. Music, but that’s ok because white folks do the all-black-people-look-alike thing all the time, so they owe us that one.

Then Mike Posner dropped this mixtape with Don Cannon and DJ Benzi back in February/March. I downloaded it then, listened to it a couple times, liked it, but that was around the time Drake’s So Far Gone was in heavy, heavy rotation, so nothing else really got any play. So, I didn’t give A Matter of Time much burn, and I think I neglected to post it on The Block. And I pretty much forgot about it since then.

But earlier this week, the homie WarrenJae hit my like “Mike Posner, I told you first.” Of course, I already had Posner’s mixtape, and I was already jammin’ to the Posner track on Big Sean’s mixtape. So, Warren wasn’t telling me anything I didn’t already know. But Burna’s excitement did stir my interest enough to make me relisten to the Posner mixtape again. I really gave A Matter of Time a thorough listen and this mixtape is really dope. I did a little more research on Posner and I came across this video where he’s performing with Big Sean and the crowd knew all the words to his song (hit the video around the 2:05 mark to witness it). The show was at Duke, where he goes to school, but still, when the whole student body knows your song, you gotta be fuxing a lot of hoes promiscuous girls on campus. Actually, Ponser had a show in Atlanta last week, and the my dude Maurice Garland was there. But Maurice had never heard of the guy, so he was kinda shocked to see everyone already knew his ish.

Anyways, the song in the video with Big Sean is called “Cooler Than Me,” which has been out for about a year and it’s kinda already buzzing amongst college kids and the internets, but its my favorite song of the week (next to Kings of Leon, of course). And I totally relate to it, especially because girls nowadays always think they cooler than a nucca.

But yeah, “Cooler Than Me” is my joint. His other song called “Drug Dealer Girl” has a good buzz, too. And from what I saw on Twitter, he shot a video and old girl from the Drake video is supposed to be in it (oh, joy!).
