I got a chance to interview 9th Wonder for HipHopWired, and for me…being a big Little Brother fan and treating The Listening and The Minstrel Show albums as Hip-Hop gospel, it was dope as hell for me to finally have the opportunity to chop it up with a Carolina hip-hop legend like 9th Wonder.

The interview went kinda long, so it ended up getting cut into clips, so here’s Part 1 of my 9th Wonder interview. I’ll post up Part 2 when it gets released.

I interviewed Yelawolf with the folks over at HipHopWired recently. The interview was a lot longer than what they chopped it down to, so I’ll see if I can get my hands on the rest of the video and put it out myself.

Nevertheless, Yela talked about the Vans Warped Tour he was on, his Shady debut album and the grind it took to get where he’s at now.

Shouts out to J-Dot too.

Yelawolf’s Radioactive album drops on September 27th.

Rock City is a group from the Virgin Islands that I’ve been a fan of for awhile. They were signed with Akon’s Konvict Muzik for a minute, and I thought they would have blown up by now, but for one reason or another, they never took off. Although, as songwriters they’ve worked with everyone from Usher to Rihanna to the Pussycat Dolls to Sean Kingston to Drake, Keri Hilson, Chris Brown and just about anyone you can name. So it’s safe to assume their publishing checks are looking nice.

Still, as artists that Konvict deal wasn’t really working for them, so after a couple years of pushing their PTFAO (Put The F*cking Album Out) campaign, Rock City was finally released from their deal this year, and they’re free to find a new situation elsewhere.

I had the chance to interview R. City for just after they got out of their deal, and they explained what happened with their Konvict deal and what they have planned next. Peep the interview below.

And for the last interview in Part 2 of and The Block‘s State of SC Hip-Hop series, a man that needs little to no introduction…Charlamagne Tha God.

State of SC Hip-Hop (Part 2) Interviews: LeLe | Boss G | Shera Bass | KJ Kearney

I meant to post this last week, but I was out of town. But KJ Kearney is the homie who runs the southern street wear blog He also launched a successful streetwear event in Charleston, SC this year called the Big Mix, which in a few years has the potential to be one of the biggest street wear events in the country.

KJ also started a hip-hop blog called that supports indie artists, so if I don’t fux with you on The Block, maybe KJ will at Hot Grits.

Also, KJ is responsible for making Charleston Riverdog hats cool…with a resume like that we had to interview him for our State of SC Hip Hop series.

Listen to his interview below:

So I did an interview with Don Cannon for, and they insist on putting me on camera. This was my very first interview where I had to actually be in the video, and I ain’t really comfortable with that sh-t. I guess since I’ll be doing a lot more video interviews I’ll have to get better and more relaxed with it, but I guess I’ll get used to it eventually. (I’m stay Gamecock’d up though).

Anyway, here’s my convo with DJ/producer Don Cannon, where he talks about leaving the Aphilliates, how he reconnected with DJ Drama, his new ventures and a bunch of other stuff.

The interview is in two parts, and you can peep the 2nd half in the cut.

I think I forgot to post up the last two Where Is Hip Hop? episodes with Nanci O and myself. In Episode 81 (above), I called out J. Cole since he’s been bullsh-ttin’ about putting his album out.

And in Episode 82 (below), I made an apology to Ace Hood, since I thought he would have fallen off by now, laughed at him when he was on that XXL Freshmen cover and was joking on him when they had that #uknowyouAceHood Twitter trending topic a couple years back. “Hustle Hard” happens to be on of my favorite rap records this year, so I can admit when I’m wrong. My bad, Ace Hood.

Check both of those out, and remember the Nanci O Radio Show airs every Thursday night on WXYC 89.3 FM Chapel Hill, NC.

Anyone that reads The Block on the regular should know by now I’m a big fan of these Fly Union nuccas from Ohio. I actually got the chance to interview Fly U. when they came to Atlanta a couple weeks ago. I’m fuxin’ with this new site in the ATL called, and they have me doing a lot of video interviews, so you guys will probably catch me in front and behind the camera a lot more. I haven’t figured out if that’s a good or bad thing yet, but I’m trying to get used to.

This was my first of many interviews to come, so yeah… Shouts out to The Greater Than Club. You can download their TGTC album below too.

My girl Tasha and myself did another round of our State of SC Hip Hop interviews/discussions. People seemed to dig them so much that we decided to give it another go. And this time we interview SC’s #1 trap rapper Boss G, the woman of the city LeLe aka Bad Bad, my man KJ from, the boss lady behind the SC Music Awards Shera Bass and a man that needs no introduction on Carolina soil Charlamagne Tha God.

We’ll probably drop the interviews on yall starting next week, but just for now, check the quick preview video of all the interviews above.

I promise you, this round of interviews will be 10x more controversial than the first.

For this week’s episode of Where Is Hip Hop? with my girl Nanci O, Nanci let me give my list of overrated rappers. You might find a couple of your favorite rap artists on this list, and if you do, don’t get mad at me, that’s just how I feel. Take a listen.
