This was one of my favorite songs last year (don’t judge me). But what the fux is Shaq doing in the video? Classic.

I couldn’t think of anything creative to entitle this post, so I straight jacked my homie Rizoh’s An Album I Care About series (my bad Riz) just so I could let ya’ll know that Corrine Bailey Rae’s new album The Sea is out today. For those of you that don’t know about Corinne, she’s a singer-songwriter from England that’s signed to EMI/Capitol. She dropped her debut album back in 2006, the joint sold about 4 million copies worldwide,  “Like a Star” was my jam and I think I still have that album on my iPod.

Corrine was on her way to being an international star but then in March of 2008, her husband died from what was believed to be a drug overdoes. So, she’s basically been on a hiatus from music since then, and understandably so. I can’t lie though, I was fienin’ for some new music from her, so when new songs stayed leaking a few months back, I pretty much got a hard-on cause I got so excited. And since her album drops today…that’s kinda like a big deal. Well, at least to me. Cause ya’ll know, even although I’m a major hip-hop head, I love my pop/rock/neo-soul ish too.

I gotta hit up Target at some point today, so I’ll probably buy The Sea and never open it, which is what I pretty much do nowadays, since I always download albums weeks in advance and upload them to my iPod Touch. I mean, I don’t really have a use for CDs anymore. They’re a lot like cassette tapes, but I still cop them to support the artists, and just in case I lose an album file, I have something to go back to and upload an album from.

Anyways, that’s my plug for Corinne Bailey Rae’s new album. Cop that. (Sorry about stealing your swag Riz. Btw, your Rockets are starting to suck, just like I said they would).

Corinne Bailey Rae – “I’ll Do It Again” (Video):

This song is hella old, but it’s just picking up on pop stations so I just heard it for the first time this week. Ya’ll know I be on that rock ish too, so from time to time you’ll have to excuse me if you ain’t wit it.

My girl Met put me on to this Kesha chick a couple months back, and since this song is the #1 song on iTunes I guess I should finally bring her to your attention because I kinda fuxs with this ish. The only thing I know about Kesha is that she was born in LA and raised in Nashville, TN, she’s signed to RCA Records and she was on Flo Rida’s song “Right Round” (yes, Flo Rida still raps. I know a lot of you aren’t aware of that since he went straight pop).

If you listen to the lyrics, shawty said something about waking up in the morning and brushing her teeth with Jack, which sounds like my type of girl (minus the morning breathe).

Anyways, this ish is all over the pop radio stations, so Kesha will probably have a big year in 2010. From what I heard, she really does perform her shows straight wasted, so hopefully she didn’t end up like Amy Winehouse, cause that would just be a disaster.

Don’t sleep. Black Eyed Peas be jammin’.

Don’t judge me…

I fuxs with Norah Jones the long way. Her new album The Fall drops on November 17th.

Spotted over at TSS (what up, Gotty).

I got introduced to Joss Stone back in 2004, when my old lady at the time used to bump her video for “Spoiled” super hard when it came on MTV, while she got dressed for work in the mornings. To this day, “Spoiled” is still my favorite Joss Stone song, and I’ve been a huge fan ever since.

But then, back in 2007, around the time Joss dropped her album Introducing Joss Stone, rumors started coming out that shawty was fuxing for tracks, and that she had let Raphael Saadiq hit it since he produced her last album. You know, I was kinda hurt by that, and I totally believed it after I saw this promo picture (I mean, that says it all, right?). I liked the album, but I kinda started looking at her sideways, and I sorta stopped checking for her.

But time has passed, and I think I’m over the whole “fuxing for tracks” thing, and I just wanna hear some new Joss Stone music. I was actually starting to get worried about her because she hadn’t really put out any music over the last two years, so I wasn’t sure if she started smoking crack like Amy Winehouse or something. But lo and behold, some new Joss Stone music started leaking to the internet and she even dropped an album yesterday called Colour Me Free! so I gotta go pick that up. Anyways, I’m posting the two tracks that I saw floating around the net. One of the tracks has Nas on it, which I don’t understand how he didn’t have time to get on Jay-Z or Raekwon’s albums, but he had time for Joss Stone (but I digress). Anyways, check the tracks out, and fux with that Colour Me Free! album if you like what you hear.

I had never heard of Lykke Li until Drake flipped her song “Little Bit,” but from the music I’ve heard, I’m digging this Sweden chick’s music. “Possibility” leaked the other day, and it’s featured on the soundtrack for the new Twight: New Moon movie (which is the only movie I can’t wait to see right now). “Possibility” is a real somber track that’s basically about the pain of someone leaving you. Well, Lykke explains the song a lot better during her MTV News article here, so read that if you need an explanation for the song.

I meant to put this up the other day, but I forgot. But ya’ll already know I ride with my girl, P.
