The media is killing Lebron James this morning, including Charlamagne Tha God. The slander, disrespect and comedy in this is hilarious…

Congratulations to Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd and the 2011 NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs defeated Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat 105-95 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to win the 2011 NBA championship. Great game. Incredible series. Amazing season.

Well folks, the start of the 2010-2011 NBA season is finally upon us, in what is arguably the most hyped NBA season since Jordan, Scottie and Rodman went 72-10 in ’95-’96. Tonight D. Wade, Lebron James, Chris Bosh and those other guys that play for Miami take on the Celtics Big 3 (Garnett, Pierce, Allen), along with Shaq’s old chasing-a-ring-ass. This should be pretty dope. I know I can’t wait to get home and throw back a couple beers and watch NBA opening night.

And to celebrate the beginning of the season, I’m gonna make this week NBA Week on The Block. So you can expect a few NBA basketball related posts sprinkled in between regular Block content this week. Not that most of you care, but basketball is my favorite sport, so you guys can expect sporadic hoops talk from here on out. Get ready yall. I love this game…

NBA Opening Night Schedule

Miami at Boston – 7:30 pm EST (TNT)
Phoenix at Portland – 10 pm EST
Houston at LA Lakers – 10:30 pm EST (TNT)

Well folks, we’re less than four weeks til the start of the 2010-2011 NBA season, and life can’t get much better for a sports fan. Last night, a bunch of teams began playing preseason games, including Lebron James and the Miami Heat. If you don’t watch Sportcenter every morning like regular guys do, I’ll go ahead and tell you that Lebron James beasted in his Heat preseason debut. The highlights are below. This season is going to be crazy.

John Wall’s NBA preseason debut is in the cut.

Well, everyone else is talking about it, so I guess we should get the conversation going on The Block too. We won’t know where Lebron James is headed until tonight at 9 pm on ESPN (like he really had to have an hour special to make a decision, right?), but we can throw out some predictions and start up a discuss now. So what do ya’ll think? Will Lebron James return home to his Cleveland Cavaliers? Leave to team up with D. Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami? Join Roc Nation in New Jersey? Sip Ciroc with Diddy in Madison Square Garden? Try to fill MJ’s shoes in Chicago? Come down to the Carolinas and sign with the Charlotte Bobcats? (Hey, stranger things have happened). Lets discuss.

Well, the next time you see Lebron James, it might not be in a Cleveland Cavs jersey, as King James and his Cleveland squad lost Game 6 of the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals to the Boston Celtics, giving Garnett & Co. a 4-2 series win. Sorry Bron. We’ll see you next time.

Well, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, as you can see R.E. has been on Xmas vacay, and I haven’t updated The Block much at all lately. But since I’ve pretty much punting it (“punting” that’s the new one, you know, like “kicking it”), I decided to post on The Block for a few hours and try to get things back up to speed over here. I’ve been on my CharlestonColumbiaCharlotte ish, you know hanging with fam, friends, girlfriend(s), your girlfriend (ya’ll know how I do by now) in the Carolinas. I will say that Xmas was cool this year. Partying & bullsh!t is always fun. Plus I saw Avatar in 3D, so I think I’ll write a review for that in a minute.

For those of you that watched the Lakers vs. Cavs last night, I’m sure ya’ll saw the Nike puppet “Dunking On Reindeer” commercial with Kobe, Lebron and Santa. Maaaaaan, that ish was so funny, I about chocked on some eggnog. If you missed it, luckily everything is on youtube, so I posted it above. That’s one of the best commercials I’ve seen in awhile.

Anyways, I’m about to drop about 10-12 posts, so I feel free to spend your post-Christmas Saturday right here on The Block with me.

“Dunking on that reindeer, dunking on that reindeer, dunk, dunk, dunk, dunking on that reindeer.”
