And just like that the 2011 NFL season is underway (no lockout). If I said I wasn’t excited about this football season I’d be a muthaeffin’ liar but since I had my fantasy football draft about a week ago and I took Peyton Manning as my quarterback thinking he’d be back from neck surgery soon, with news coming out that Manning had another neck surgery on Thursday and thus will be out for at least 3 months, I’m fuxing sick right now.

But still I’m going to try and enjoy this season as much as possible. Panthers and Falcons all day (although I have no faith in either of those teams making it to the Super Bowl).

I’m going Pittsburgh Steelers over Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl this year folks.

Tonight’s Packers vs. Saints season opener was a great one too (even though I fell asleep in the 4th quarter…I gotta get my life together).

Hope yall ready for some football…

National Football League fans can breathe a sigh on relief…after four and a half months, the NFL lockout is officially over. Yes, ladies and gents, the NFL and it’s players have reached a new a collective-bargaining agreement and the 2011 NFL football season will begin as scheduled.

Here are the basics:

-”All revenue system” resolves issue of how to split NFL’s $9 million take

-Salary cap set at about $120M plus $22M in performance-based benefits

-Teams will begin signing rookies, opening facilities and camps this week

-Other issues including rookie compensation, practice, ex-player benefits resolved

In laymen’s terms….football is back. #ThankYouBasedGod.

The 2011 NFL season begins on Thursday September 8th with the Saints at the Packers. Excuse me while I get my fantasy football team ready…

Congratulations to the XLV Championships the Green Bay Packers. Word to Lil Wayne:

It was a good Super Bowl game to end off a great 2010-2011 NFL season. I’m not really sure what to do now until the start of next season (barring a lockout). But I can’t wait to start this whole thing over in September.

I guess I’ll run that “Green & Yellow” track one more time though.

I’m not really an Atlanta Falcons fan, but since I’m an Atlanta resident and Roddy White is a product of the same high school and Charleston, SC town that I’m from, I reserve the right to ride the Atlanta Falcons hype whenever I please. And since the Falcons beat the Baltimore Ravens in a 26-21 Thursday Night football game last night, and thus earning them the best record in the Nation Football League (7-2), now is as good a time as any to ride the Falcons hype.

The picture of the girl in the Falcons jersey has nothing to do with nothing, I just thought it would be a nice piece of eye candy to accompany last night’s highlights. Go Falcons. Falcons vs. Ravens Highlights

Look, Mike, I heard the Philadelphia Eagles handed the starting quarterback job over to you, and I just want to congratulate you on getting your life back together, making the most of a second chance and making a comeback in the NFL. A lot of ex-cons have it rough, man. Just the other day a dude ran up on me at the gas (cause that’s how begging ass nuccas do in Atlanta, they catch you at the pump cause you can’t really go anywhere while you’re pumping gas), and told me this sob story about how he just got out on jail (he showed me the tattoos he got done in jail), didn’t have any money and his family hadn’t eaten all day. He wanted some money but I’ve gotten in the habit of not carrying cash on me, cause every time you get out of the car in Atlanta there’s a nuccas asking for money. It’s just easier to tell them I ain’t got it. Not that you’d be the type of ex-con to ask for money, Mike. I’m just sayin’. I know it’s hard for ex-criminals.

Well ladies and gentlemen, tonight begins another NFL seasons, and it’s the official professional opening of the greatest sport in the world, despite what those soccer enthusiast think. And like we do every year before the season begins, it’s time to throw out your Super Bowl predictions, that’ll probably but wrong come January but we make our picks anyway. Now, if you don’t know what the hell I’m talking about you can just stop reading right now because I’m obviously not talking to you. But for all my football fanatics, yall know what it is. Lets make our picks and I’ll go first.

(Randy) Super Bowl Picks: Indianapolis Colts vs. Green Bay Packers | Winner: Colts

Yeah, I know the Colts lost the Super Bowl last year but I don’t give a f*ck. I’m going with Peyton Manning & Co. to run through the league once again this year, fight their way to the Super Bowl in Dallas, and this time hold up Lombardi Trophy in victory. If I’m wrong, hey, sue me. But you guys can feel free to make your Super Bowl XLV predictions in the comment section and I’ll up date this post as we go and I get picks from some of my peeps and commenters. At the end of the year we’ll look back at this and see if any of us were right. If anyone gets all their picks right come Super Bowl time, I’ll think up some kind of giveaway from The Block to you, but you’ll probably have to remind me, I have a bad memory. Well, either that or I’ll be on some “I didn’t say that” ish because I’m a swore loser. Either way, lets get ready for some football!!

Super Bowl XLV Predictions From The Homies

My Cousin Ced: Packers over Bengals

Kevin Rachwel: Packers over Colts

O.K.: Dallas Cowboys

frandl: San Francisco 49ers

Dan Johns: Baltimore over Dallas

Steelz: Panthers over Patriots

KJ: Saints over Patriots

I wasn’t going for them, but congrats to the New Orleans Saints, Super Bowl XLIV champs, with their 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. The city of New Orleans, with all they’ve been through with Hurricane Katrina, really do deserve this win. (Plus, Drew Brees was my fantasy football QB in the Ham Squad league. And I fuxs with Reggie Bush for sticking it to Kim Kardashian on a nightly basis. So, I’m not mad at the Saints one bit). But I will say being a Reggie Bush groupie does not make you a Saints fan. So, for you hoes promiscuous girls and bandwagon ass nuccas, unless your name is Lil Wayne, Mack Maine, Jay Electronica, Curren$y, or RE, don’t try to act like you’ve been a Saints fan since Day One.

Anyways, I know people down on Bourbon Street were dummin’ last night (see for yourself below and here)…Mardis Gras is gonna be stoopid this year. Once again, congrats to the Saints. I’m mad I missed the party in N.O. last night.

Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend, and that you’re ready for another week here at The Block. I know some of you all are off for Columbus Day, but unfortunately, OZONE doesn’t recognize any federal holidays that don’t involve seeing family and friends, so I’m up in the muthaf*ckin’ office while the rest of you chumps are probably getting that good rain sleep (and yes, I do feel some kind of way about that).

Its cool though. I had a pretty good weekend, and I hope the rest of you all did too. The BET Hip Hop Awards was this weekend in Atlanta, and the brunt of my weekend can be seen here, here, here and my Thursday here. I don’t really feel like going into it in any details, but look at the pictures, and that’s pretty much it in a nutshell.

Anyways, it’s back to the grizzly. Another week on The Block means more music, my randomness and more sexy woman. I mean, “what the f*ck else you want for free?” (c) 50 Cent.

Welcome to another week on The Block, ya’ll.

Michael Vick signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, and is officially back in the National Football League. I’m watching Mike & Mike In The Morning on ESPN 2 like I do every morning, and it seems that a lot of people are pissed off that Mike Vick is back in the league. I for one am stoked. Ok, he killed some dogs, so the fux what. The man did the crime, and did his time. He deserves a second chance and that’s all I really have to say. Welcome back, Mike.

The Best Of Michael Vick is after the jump.
