I saw the new issue of XXL Magazine in Kroger the other day, and since my subscription ran out a couple months ago, I was about to cop it. But then I looked and the mag had a $5.99 price tag on it, so I decided not to get it. Not to be frugal with my money but if you order a XXL subscription, you get 9 issues for $20 bucks, so it doesn’t make sense to buy one issue from the store for $6. Not to mention the magazine price went up a whole $1. It actually used to be $5 and I used to buy them out of the store all he time, no problem.

But there’s something about when a product or business inflates their price that really turns me off. I used to hit up American Deli all the time (don’t understand how it’s called American Deli, when all the people working there are Asian, but that’s neither here nor there), and there upped the price on all their combos by like a $1 and I don’t think I’ve been back there since…

Anyways, J. Cole was featured in the new XXL and it’s a good thing I held off on buying the magazine, because I can just read excerpts from his feature online.

J. Cole’s Cole World album drops on Tuesday, just to remind folks.

Hit the jump to check out photos and excerpts from Cole’s XXL interview.

Ricky Rozay, Meek Mill, Pill and Wale are on the cover of XXL‘s October issue. You have to tip your hat to Ross, he went from the C.O. to the CEO…bawse.

That reminders me, I need to renew my XXL subscription. I haven’t read a XXL issue in a couple months.

2Pac Back…It’s been 15 years since Tupac Shakur’s death. Hard to believe. R.I.P. 2Pac.

Lil Tunechi is the XXL cover story next month. That’s back to back YMCMB XXL covers if you’re keeping score at home.

Young Money/Cash Money is #winning right now, even though in the issue Lil Wayne talks about retiring after Tha Carter IV. But Jay-Z said the same thing years ago, and he’s still rapping…We don’t believe you either, Weezy. The issue hits stores, stands and mailboxes on July 12th.

Who would have thought those geechee ass nuccas from Nawlins, Louisiana that I started listening to back in high school would be on top of the rap game 10 years later. If you think about where Cash Money started to where YMCMB is right now, the story of Baby Williams is some inspiring stuff, and I can’t wait to read it in the new issue of XXL.

The issue hits newsstands on June 7th. A preview is linked below.

I dropped a 1998 Cash Money classic in the cut just for the hell of it.

This month’s issue of XXL features Lupe Fiasco, which reminds me, I never got the Freshmen issue in the mail. I’m not sure if that’s because my subscription ran out, or if somebody stole it out of my mailbox (you know these suburban wannabe thugs do stuff like that) . You know why I think somebody stole it? I saw some kids messing with my neighbor’s mailbox the other day. I looked outside and I saw a toddler body slamming a mailbox like he just finished watching Westlemania and wanted to imitated what he saw, while his older brother, who was probably like 6-years-old, looked on like he was proud of the lil focker. I bet those lil nuccas stole my magazine, but I’m not gonna jump to conclusions. But if you hear a story about a grown ass man beating up a couple lil kids over a mailbox in Atlanta…that’s probably me. You guys can peep the info. about Lupe’s XXL cover story via the link below though. I’m about to call XXL about my magazine subscription.

Last but certainly not least…even though we already heard this verse on “Dreamin’.”
